Southcentral Alaska Map  Southcentral is the most populated region in Alaska and where you'll find travel the easiest. Anchorage is the Hub of Alaska and you'll be able to access most of the rest of the state from here. The Kenai peninsula and the Matanuska Valley are just a few hours away via the road system or you can fly out to a more remote region form Anchorage. Other destinations in Southcentral are Palmer, Wasilla, Kenai, Homer, Seward, Soldotna, Glennallen, Chitna, Valdez and Talkeetna.
